Zenterio attended BroadcastAsia at the end of May in Singapore. The 21st edition of the event took place in the air conditioned splendor of the Marina Bay Sands, away from the heat and humidity of Singapore’s equatorial climate.
As in other parts of the world, Asia is seeing the impact of widespread broadband availability on the TV industry, with Over-The-Top TV services being launched on a regular basis across the region. At the start of the show, PCCW Media’s Viu TV announced that they have added Indonesia to the list of countries that they serve. HOOQ is rolling out across Singtel’s Asian footprint, and ASTRO’s Tribe is another recent OTT example. Digital TV Research expects that OTT revenues in the region will triple over the next five years.
